Operational Profile: A remote 450-person hard-rock mine in Northern Canada with no year-round road access, operating 14/14 shift rotations through two southern dispatch hubs.
The Challenge: The mine was experiencing a high rate of underutilized seats on contracted regional turboprop charters, winter weather delays caused by the absence of on-site CRFI (Canadian Runway Friction Index) reporting capability, and significant standby labour costs during freeze-up and break-up transition periods.
Cirrus Execution: We audited the existing flight schedule against real camp check-in data, restructured routing between the two hubs with matched gravel-certified Dash 8-400 and ATR 72-600 equipment, and deployed an on-site aerodrome manager to handle winter runway friction reporting and carrier dispatch coordination.
