Below Wings Training
Below Wings is the airside of a remote strip: marshalling, radio, fuel, de-ice, load, and move the aircraft with the equipment you actually own. For mining and small airports, one crew often fuels, loads, and marshals the same turn. Training is practical, site-specific, and tied to apron safety, fuel quality, winter ops, and cargo security.
Available Programs
We conduct on-site ground operations training, integrating classroom theory with hands-on practice using your actual equipment and layout.
Airside Safety and Movement
Apron rules, ground markings, FOD prevention, PPE, and safe movement in normal and winter or slippery conditions.
Marshalling and Ramp Signals
Aircraft marshalling signals, ICAO-standard hand signals, marshaller positioning, and communication with the flight crew.
Restricted Radio Operator (ROC-A)
Preparation and testing for the Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification required for aerodrome communications.
Aircraft Servicing / Turnaround
Safe use of stairs, GPU, lavatory and water service, belt loader, and heater around the aircraft during a turn.
Aircraft Towing and Pushback
Safe operation of tow tractors, pushback procedures, cockpit radiotelephony contact, and towbar connections.
Aircraft Refueling and Fuel QA
Aircraft fueling safety, static grounding, fuel types (Jet A-1, Avgas), safety zones, and quality assurance logs.
Fuel Reception and Farm QC
Receipt of Jet A-1 at the aerodrome, sampling, and daily, weekly, and monthly quality checks aligned to current fuel standards.
Aircraft De-Icing and Anti-Icing
Fluid types (Type I, II, III, IV), application criteria, holdover calculation, and post-de-ice inspection checks.
Pallet Building and Cargo Loading
ULD and open pallet loading, cargo securing, weight and balance constraints, and manifesting for small and remote ops.
Dangerous Goods (Air) - Handling and Loading
Recognition, acceptance awareness, and load/unload roles for dangerous goods moving by air on charter and cargo turns.
WHMIS 2015 / GHS
Workplace hazardous materials for ramp and fuel teams: labels, SDS sheets, and safe handling of site chemicals.
GSE / Equipment Operators
Forklift, scissor or telescopic lift, and work-at-height theory and practice for the equipment on your aerodrome.
